Lighthouse Recreation has been made possible by an agreement between the Lighthouse Community Center Society and the Regional District of Nanaimo. The Recreation Service Agreement provides the ability to provide a Recreation Coordinator with the goal of helping support and promote a wide variety of accessible and inclusive sports, arts, and cultural activities for the residents of Electoral Area H in the Regional District of Nanaimo. Lighthouse Country is a diverse community of around 4000 residents that stretches from Deep Bay and Bowser to Qualicum Bay, Dunsmuir, and Horne Lake. The area has a lot to offer with outdoor parks, trails, sports courts, and facilities such as the Lighthouse Community Hall, Bowser Elementary, the Legion, and Magnolia Court. Lighthouse Recreation works to stay connected with the residents, local community groups and all the dedicated community organizations to better understand the recreational values, needs, and wants of the community. Together we can ensure a focus on activities that benefit the whole community.
