Coburn Road Trail Tune Up Work Party
Lighthouse Recreation was awarded a grant to resurface the Coburn Road Trail in an effort to create a safer more accessible path for community residents and visitors. With support from the Regional District of Nanaimo, Sunbelt Rentals, Bowser Towing, Bluestone Aggregate, Rockaway Trucking, and you! On Sunday May 7, we’ll be raking, shaping, and beautifying the fresh resurfaced trail bed and we will need all the help we can get!

Bocce in the Heart of Bowser

Bocce is one of the most widely played ball sports in the world. It’s also one of the oldest yard games, with the modern version originating in Italy. Bocce is a lawn game that’s played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball. The objective of the game is to earn points by getting your balls closer to the target than your opponent does. Bocce rules are fairly straightforward, and people of all ages and skill levels can play the game. This Spring you can join in a play Bocce on the Heart of Bowser green space at the Bowser Legion.

The kids will also enjoy bike field trips to the Doighouse where they will have a chance to get closer to nature, learn about gardening, and work on some crafts like planter boxes and recycled art. The kids will also get a cooking class and some gym time playing pickleball. …
